S8 E9: The One That Almost Didn't Happen

Boy howdy did we try a lot to get this episode out! After two failed attempts, finally Cameron and Bryan are here once again to fill your ear holes with musings about video games and music! It’s good fun.

Edited in two seconds by Cameron. Our theme music is The Olive Gang by coda.

S8 E8: It’s All From Japan, Man

Konnichiwa, folks! Are you feeling linguistic today? Then boy are you in for a treat, because Stephen is doing a questionable job learning Japanese and leads his buddies Bryan and Cameron down the merry road of misguided self-guided education. It’s an illuminating conversation that eventually devolves into an argument about video game genres, so don’t worry, they haven’t gotten “cultured” or anything. There’s even an appearance from an old friend who screams habitually, so all your bases are covered.

S8 E6 and E7: Video Game History Time

Please enjoy the first double feature in Whales are Whales history. The runtime of Season 8 Episode 6 is one minute and twenty-four seconds and consists of unadulterated inanity. The runtime of Season 8 Episode 7 is I dunno about an hour and a half and consists of the history of video games in full. Be amused. Be educated. Be true to yourself. <3

Cameron’s Christmas List:

S8 E5: Batman is a bit silly, ain't he?

You know, when you stop to think about it, Batman is a bit of a silly concept. This amazing shower thought and more is discussed in this episode of the pod-cast, as Bryan, Cameron and Stephen sit down to comment on the Bat’s newest outing! Cameron also investigates a weird smell. It’s a good time.

S8 E4: Somehow More Boats

Cameron’s dad bought a new boat! (boat!) Cameron bought a new car! (car!) Bryan actually showed up for an episode! (episode!) Benjamin has tattoo-related religious trauma! (trauma!) It was a good time.

S8 E3: Boaten Boat (cameron named this episode)

Cameron and Stephen join forces to do talking and stuff I’m sorry I’m just so tired this week has been a roller coaster and I could barely get this uploaded ack ack ack next time stephen is going to upload the episodes so he can write a real description anyways they talk about Elden Ring love you see you next week month.

S8 E2: Two Bachelors Bachelor It Up!

Two quick notes before we start! Ben is on satellite internet, which means there was a weird audio delay in our speech! Sorry if it sounds like we’re talking over each other, it was laggy for us too. And secondly, Ben is on the show… which means there is cursing, and I didn’t want to edit it out.

Cameron and Ben join forces once again to have riveting discussions about their general health, being bachelors, having kids, and a LOT more health discussion actually wow they really go hard on talking about what is wrong with them, what are they, OLD lol yes. yes we are old. Thanks.

S8 E1: The 2021 Lookback Thingy

Here at the ending of one year and the beginning of another, Stephen, Bryan, and Cameron sit together in a circle to share stories and reminisce about the past 365 days but it’s actually a triangle because there’s only three of them. Please, by all means join them— and have a pretty good 2022 while you’re at it!

Edited by Stephen. Our theme music is The Olive Gang by coda.

S7 E12: Which Muppet Are YOU?

Today the Pod-Cast is brought to you by Stephen and Cameron, known the world over as “the Fozzie and Kermit of podcasting”. Nobody is quite clear on who is which. The two old pals reminisce about their own sketch comedy productions for half of the episode before talking about themselves for the rest of it. However, they each bring a topic of personal importance to round out the conversation: after watching three Studio Ghibli films, Stephen finds himself deeply moved thereabouts the soul region, while Cameron regales a tail or two vis-à-vis Dungeons & Dragons. This is not a Christmas Special, but you are allowed to pretend it is.

S7 E11: Spoooooooky Story Time!

What better way to celebrate the Hallowing of Weens than sitting with your best of friends and talking about Resident Evil 4 and telling very questionable ghost stories? This is not a rhetorical question. Let us know in the comments.

S7 E8: The One Where Stephen Leaves

Join Cameron, Bryan, Ben and Stephen for a fun discussion about game difficulty, Shakespeare and a surprise return (or a reprise?!) of Burn Notice! Sadly, Stephen decided, half way through the episode, that he’d had enough of the rest of the panel’s shenanigans and left to never return until next month if he’s feeling up to it. So those of you hoping to hear from Stephen for longer than 30 or so minutes, sorry. Maybe next time.

Edited by Cameron (on a weird setup, sorry if the audio is not mixed perfectly). Our theme music is The Olive Gang by coda. Additional music by Incompetech.

S7 E7: Literally Just Capitalism

Ben returns with glad tidings and a scathing critique of the Capitalist system! Cameron got a new car, but that seemed inappropriate to mention during the anti-consumerism segment of the show, so he politely waits until the end of the show to update us on his exciting life news. We end things by trying to connect with the younger generation, which was very sus.

S7 E6: Bird-yan, Came-wren, and Stphn

Everybody’s tired but we show up anyway, because we’re professionals.

We spend a long time talking about why we’re so tired, then wrap things up with a little chat about our earliest creative projects and how we view them. It’s a delightful discussion, and we hope you enjoy it!

Edited by Bryan. Our theme music is The Olive Gang by coda.

S7 E5: It's Cam-eron!

This week, Cam-eron takes over the Pod-Cast for a quick, 30 minute solo cast! Yes, many of the members of the Pod-Cast are unavailable, but Cameron thought he could fill 30 minutes himself! Did he succeed? Or did he immediately regret this choice? The answer is sorta somewhere in the middle.

S7 Interlude

LIFE!

SNAP

…is like a lime.

(we’ll be back soon with a real episode!)

S7 E4: Pets (And How to Find Them)

WARNING: CURSING IS INVOLVED

Benjamin joins us this week, and much to Bryan’s dismay he decided it would be fun to curse several times throughout the episode. Unfortunately, Bryan was unable to find and remove these curses while editing, so we have officially lost our privileged status as a family show. Our plot to usurp and replace Sesame Street has been brutally stolen from us, and we have no choice now but to be edgy and cool, like Family Guy but with no animation or script.

Also, we talk about animals and video game personality surveys. It’s a good time!

S7 E3: Life is Hard (Spoiler: And so is the mattress)

Cameron breaks his self-imposed exile to talk about why he’s been in self-imposed exile. Stephen shares a hip, modern, dark take on the Princess and the Pea. Bryan tries to lift the mood by talking about how cool that new Microsoft game box is. Oh, and Mario!

That’s pretty much the episode.

Edited by Bryan. Our theme music is The Olive Gang by coda. Additional music by Stephen and Cameron.

S7 E2: A New Episode Has Come (Karaoke Version)

Cameron has become wise in his old age, advocating for careful planning in financial decisions and a dedicated regimen of exercise. Stephen has plumbed the depths of his dream psyche to boost his own self-esteem and discover newfound confidence. Bryan has found a new way to botch the intro. Self-discovery is the name of the game this episode, oh and we also talk a bunch about our history with music.

Edited by Bryan. Our theme music is The Olive Gang by coda. Additional music by Plus One, True Vibe, Skillet, Decyfer Down, and Celene Dion. It was a doozy.
