Episode 123: Harmonizing in Harmony(ish)

The DV Cast knows nothing about space-time continuum, but something somewhere must have broken something fierce because worlds are colliding like Super Smash Bros. in here. Cameron has traveled from Oregon City to the sandy land of Texas in which Stephen and Bryan reside, resulting in a very, very exciting outcome: the ability to test a new microphone! Cameron takes this opportunity to rifle through the brotherly duo's video game shelf (comprised mostly of Sonic Adventure 2) and wastes no time in finding his oldest friend and ally Resident Evil 4. A newcomer to the game collection is Metal Gear Solid 4, which the panel finds to be weird. Incidentally, Stephen teaches everyone about Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn. All this and more is discussed in real time with real people in real life on a real couch and one real chair, but they accidentally recorded with the MacBook instead of their new microphone so they quit the podcast. Opening song: Chalupa Pass, from Minimap and composed by coda.

Ending song: Chillin' With the Bros., originally from Super Smash Bros. and ReMixed by Amphibious.

Episode 101: History Repeats Itself and So Does Animal Crossing

What are your go-to games, reader and potential listener? Which ones do you never tire of playing, or even if you do, you continue consuming because you are physically/mentally unable to stop? The DV Cast (minus Zach) shed their own light on this cold-button issue (a cold-button issue is something that nobody else is really talking about), which serves as the theme of Episode 101. Summarize a Game in Five Words gives poetry to opinion while brand new segment Steamed Broccoli encourages the invasion of privacy via Steam history, each of them tying into go-to games in their own special way. You'll also hear about Typing of the Dead: Overkill's secret to success, the yakuza's involvement in The Sims 3, and 1080 Avalanche's affordable madness. There's also some StarCraft Talk, but it would be easier to count the episodes not featuring Zerg-related conversation at this point. Opening song: Funky Bits by Yoann Turpin.

Ending song: Musicolours, originally from The Sims 3 and ReMixed by Guifrog.

Episode 81: The Lumberjack Slam

With Zachary out the picture, this week's episode of Disembodied Voices becomes a landslide of anti-Metal-Gear-Solid-3 propaganda, complete with critical analysis (emphasis on the "critical") of its many weirdo bosses, missed opportunities, and that one ladder scene. Speaking of being down on things, the Xbox One fails to capture the interest of anyone in the virtual room, unlike the captivating subject of breakfast at Denny's. Thankfully the gears are shifted into positive mode for Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon, despite shaky pacing thanks to the unacceptably impatient Professor E. Gadd. Speaking of people with near-maniacal obsession to overly complicated hobbies, speedrunners and the speedruns they speedrun are discussed with due respect, concluding with the decision that Cameron will speedrun Resident Evil 4 while Stephen and Bryan speedrun nothing. You really should stick around to the very end. You don't want to miss that Denny's bit, do you? Episode 75: Donkey Konga for No Reason

Super Important Note: This episode was originally slated for April 2, 2013 but due to technological silliness was replaced with this thing. Rather than waste a perfectly good episode, it is being released now. Thanks. Welcome, welcome! This is the 75th episode of Disembodied Voices, the video game podcast that just won't stop. This week there is much ado about the Wii U gamepad's potential and lack of potential, coupled with LEGO City Undercover and its collect-a-thon ways. Although Stephen has been wrapped up in this mostly terrestrial adventure, Bryan ventures into the sky world of BioShock Infinite to bring news that it's a nifty game. Cameron has his doubts, thus finds his way to more meaningful and mature entertainment such as Bayonetta. You will also find Resident Evil 4 shopkeeper impressions in Episode 75, so come join the fun for even more fun-filled fun!
